Darren Brown

Husband, Coach & Training Partner

Darren Brown, originally from Gainesville, FL, serves multiple roles on the B-Team.  As Sarah’s husband, coach and training partner, Darren wears multiple hats and has learned to balance his titles well.  As a former 3-time all-American at the University of Texas, Darren became half of the first father-son duo to break the 4-minute mile barrier when he ran 3:59.99 in 2008.  Darren would go on to compete at the post-collegiate level, winning the inaugural B.A.A. Road Mile and making the finals of the 2009 USATF Championships, but ultimately hung up the competition spikes to return to graduate school and begin coaching/training with Sarah. Since graduating from his MBA/MS Sport Management program in 2013, Darren has continued to coach Sarah, while also joining the EllipitGO team as Strategic Marketing manager, where he helps champion the same integrated training approach that has helped Sarah reach new levels of performance.  As a husband, Darren is elated about his firstborn, as a coach, he is excited for the training challenge and as a training partner, he’s pretty sure his job hasn’t gotten any easier!

Abigail Ann Brown

The Rookie

Abigail had already racked up quite the resume of athletic accomplishments without having even stepped foot into the world. After making the 2015 USATF Championship 1500m final with a strong finishing kick in the rounds, she went on to compete in both the Monaco and London Diamond League events in her rookie season.  After a solid 9 months of training, Abigail popped into the world on March 4th, 2016, weighing in at a svelt 5lbs 15oz.  Shas taken the past few months relatively easy, sleeping a lot (thankfully) and working on her “bulking phase”, nearly doubling in weight!  I wouldn’t expect any more racing out of this youngster for a while, but I’d expect to hear rumblings of some steps towards running again somewhere around the start of the new year.  Who knows where it will go from there?  The cool thing – the sky is the limit for whatever she decides she wants to do.

Sophie Bowman-Brown

Plyometric & (Med)Ball Specialist

Sophie, originally of Johnson City, TN, is most commonly found accompanying Sarah during her ancillary training sessions.  With serious “ups” and (med)ball skills, Sophie keeps Sarah on her toes, encouraging her to reach new heights and challenging her to defy gravity.  She’s also key in making sure that Sarah’s throwing arm/shoulder are always well-conditioned with her favorite chuck-it.

Solana (Lana) Brown

Recovery Specialist

Solana (Lana), originally born in the mountains of Oregon, can typically be found belly-up catching some ZZZ’s.  A constant napping partner, Lana ensures that Sarah gets the proper amount of rest between training sessions and frequently makes Darren jealous by sending selfies of herself and Sarah napping mid-day while he’s at work! 🙂
